We all have this notion that if everything isn’t perfect in our lives all the time, then we aren’t happy. Can you truly feel happiness if you haven’t felt sadness? Think about that. It is the dichotomies that make you feel the good things in life. When you experience a moment of happiness, make yourself aware of it, enjoy it, store it away in your memory, but know it is not forever. It will come back around, but you wouldn’t enjoy it as much if that was your constant state. You wouldn’t know warmness, unless you’ve felt the cold. You wouldn’t know kindness, until someone has been rude to you. Positivity without negativity. Sunshine without the clouds. Relaxation without busyness. Happiness without struggle and adversity. Don’t mope around too much when you are experiencing struggles and don’t hold try to hold on to the moments of happiness forever. Be wise in that you know they both come and go. And you learn to love them both.
